Title: EPA’s Ruling on Methalyne Chloride
Content Description:   The US Environmental Protection Agency recently enacted a ruling concerning methylene chloride, a non-flammable solvent with many useful properties, including the formulation of many common adhesives used for laminating countertops, panels, and more.   The ruling will prohibit the manufacture of products containing methylene chloride, including adhesives, after May 2025. Anything manufactured prior to May 2025 can continue to be sold until January 2026.   The ruling means that Adhesive manufacturers including our Nevamar Adhesives, Choice Brands, and HyBond will have to stop producing products containing methylene chloride after May 2025.    This ruling affects the following Top Selling Direct Supply Products:   Nevamar NV-30 Nevamar NV-130 Nevamar-35 Hybond CF-23  Hybond 75NFM  These products can continue to be sold until January 2026. However, it is possible that the EPA ruling could be challenged in court and reversed.    Other non-methalyne chloride spray adhesives are available today. Our brands are working to develop and produce other non-methalyne chloride options with the performance and workablility you are used to.    Questions, Comments or Concerns? Let us know! The Direct Supply Team is here to help you navigate industry trends and changes.
